We all like a good pun, otherwise why are you even here, that’s why they make good fodder for various news articles across the media. Sadly, as is often the case with a great pun name for a business, those big old corporations aren’t as fun-loving as the likes of you and me.
Here are some pun favourites that have ended up in the news.
Singh’sbury Local may look a little like a particular supermarket chain, but owner Mandeep Singh Chatha is adamant that it’s just a coincidence.
He told The Metro: ‘My name is Singh and it is on Bushbury Road. That’s where the name has come from.’
That doesn’t stop customers from lining up to take selfies outside though.

But, after getting a letter threatening court action by the supermarket chain, he decided to change the name… to Morrisinghs.
A spokesperson for Morrisons saw the funny side, saying “Mr Nagra and his customers obviously have good taste so we wish him well,”

The pair said they have been issued with a cease and desist notice after it was claimed they were in breach of the well-known franchise’s trademarks.

Rather than give up, Mehmet realised he had to up his game, and bought a new van, complete with new branding.
He’s not worried that he might get hit with a lawsuit “If they do it’s up to them. I’d just change it to ‘Two Guys on Wheels’.”

The ex-neighbours star turned up with his broom cupboard pal Andi Peters as they were filming an episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
